AAUE English Course

Course in English language, Danish culture and University

If you are you a bachelor student in the IT sector, considering a possible master abroad, we have a proposal for you. Come and experience life in a Danish University, for free, as a guest student for a week, and test/improve your communication skills in English.
At Aalborg University Esbjerg we have many international students, and we know that bachelor students have two main concerns when considering to start an education abroad: funding and English. So we offer you to live here for a week and experience first-hand how university life works, how easy it could be to find a student job, and how simple it is to attend classes in English. The activities (classes, tours of Esbjerg and other cities, short presentations of our facilities) are designed to help you evaluate your English level, and your weaknesses, and tutoring will be provided, so that the participants will be able to continue improving their skills also back home. In the time of your staying we will also get to know you and will be able to suggest which master programs you could follow, as well as help you collect the requried documents. We will help you organize the trip, and we will find you a room in a hostel near our campus.
At the end of the week you will get:

• a diploma equivalent to 1 ECTS (upon attending at a minimum of the activities)
• a fair assesment of your communication and comprehension skills in English
• a pre-approval for your English level, that will let you apply for a master at AAUE, without having to take a TOELF test
• info about the Danish University system, Problem Based Learning and our IT masters in English
• an idea about how and where to find a student job
• to know many international students and learn a bit about Danish culture and society

We charge no fees for the course, so the only costs for you will be transportation to/from Esbjerg (from 100 to 300 euro circa) and living expenses (around 300 euro/person). You will have free internet access and a group office, all part of the standard student life here at AAUE.
There could be a limit to the number of participants, in spring 2008.
