| Some images of the metro
They have a lot of malls underground, so you can walk most of the center and come up directly inside other surface malls, like the Mitsukoshi ( http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=122278 )
The average height is quite low in Taipei, if compared to the north of Europe. To show this idea I took a picture from "my" point of view, in the underground train |

| In the Mitsukoshi dept. store they have girls like this in
each elevator. They spend their time asking to customers if the want to go
up or down and they operate the elevator. They also have the same strange
costume (japanese, it seems) and they all tend to have the same kind of
child-like, ecchi voice
It must be a very boring job |

| A food court - different food shops and restaurants face a common space (indoor) and customers can buy whatever they like and sit in at one of the common tables. | ![]() |
| This is ice tea with cream on top. It costs something like
40 Taiwan Dollars (circa 1 euro)
My hand is there to show the real size ;) |

| And of course: it is the anniversary
of Hello Kitty after all!
But also the robots (and Doraemon) are everywhere!! |

| In the warm and wet weather of Taipei, we were happy to
sometimes find water-machines like this one. Paper glasses are also
visible, on the right, in the dispenser on the wall...
And the water comes nice and cold! |

| Chiang Kai Shek memorial - It is a monument to the president
that moved the government of China to Taiwan, in a final attempt to resist
to the comunists (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiang_Kai-shek)
The monument is huge and placed in the center of Taipei |
